DR. CURTIS OKPARA

“Since being out of training in 2016, I’ve taken care of my fair share of patients who were/are on hospice for a terminal illness such as cancer, debilitated chronic pain patients, etc. and during that time period, I’ve been asked on numerous occasions about the use of medical cannabis as being an option of treatment for their unfortunate condition that has truly impacted their quality of life. Not knowing much about how effective cannabis could be nor having done any meaningful research on it, my answer to patients was always “I honestly don’t know”.

To this day, there is still so much that we as professionals are learning about medical cannabis, but the literature so far has been promising. With all the bad press about narcotics these days (and rightfully so) as well as patients and family members wishing they could abstain from using those pain pills for a variety of reasons, medical cannabis is something that has truly piqued my interest over the years.

Now that I’ve been given the perfect opportunity to be a part of a rapidly growing and promising field, my goal is to be one of the catalysts for something that #efefefhas an excellent chance of changing the landscape of medicine forever. With that being said, if you feel or know someone who may be a candidate for medical cannabis in the state of Texas under the required qualifying diagnosis by law then I would be more than happy to connect with you to see if this is right for you.
